FEEDING DIRECTIONS
Lactating Mares
Feed 1 to 1 1/2 lbs per 100 lbs body weight in addition to hay or pasture. Adjust intake to acheive desired body condition.
Nursing Foals
Provide free choice in mare-proof creep feeder or allow foals to consume feed when mares are eating.
Weanlings
6 months to 12 months of age, feed 1 1/2 to 2 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight in addition to high quality grass hay or a mixture of grass and alfalfa hay.
Yearlings
12 months and older, feed 1 to 1 1/2 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight plus grass hay.
Bring on feed gradually over a 2 to 3 week period and provide good quality forage. These amounts should be fed daily in divided feedings. Rates may be adjusted according to desired body condition, activity level and forage quality. Provide a source of fresh, clean water at all times.
